Glow Worm Kiln

No, I don't know if it will hold a gerbil's wieght in the upper room. I think (hope) it will, especially since the wadding did a nice job of fusing to the bottom in just the right way. I'll grind it down a little, pop that other wadding off the top, and let the gerbils at it.

This is an example of controlled serindipity in the kiln. I put the wadding in that place for stability, but I didn't really think it'd fuse. Not only did it fuse, but the three other pieces of wadding on the bottom practically fell off when I gripped and gave a solid yank. >.>

Really, if one fused the other two should have been a lot harder to get off, but... they came off without a problem. ^_^ Yeay!

I must admit I thought it was influenced by an ancient Greek ship wreck, but its for Gerbils! Do you keep Gerbils? I love them. Had some back in the 70s as a teenager (I hadn't realised but they were quite a new pet then), and then again, where I live now a few years ago (before I started pottery). I had four little boys in a huge tank and found it really difficult to find a structure for their nest that they didn't chew away. This piece of yours looks like it could be great fun for them.
