Kharla and the Nutcracker

This is a doodle. A doodle I’ve done a lot with, yes, but still a doodle. Not finished, and completely experimental. I know the body is completly out of whack, and you can see where I was getting bored while drawing the arms. So don't worry about that, if you feel the desire to critique. Mostly, I'm interested in color application on this sucker.

I was bored at the beginning of the Nutcracker, which was completely froofy this year. Well, it’s the Nutcracker, so my expectations weren’t that high anyhow, but I was really disappointed when the “mysterious and slightly threatening” one eyed uncle was just turned into a happy-go-lucky chap who loved to give the kids gifts and dance with them. Bleh.

Edit: So I figure if an image got over 100 hits in my scrap gallery, I might as well put it in my regular gallery. It's unfortunate, but it's unlikely I'll get any further with this image. Tools and all. However, I did pick up some interesting technique ideas while doing this, which was part of the point. The rest of the point was to bring some interest to a rather dull Nutcracker.

Really, If you've not read DT, at least -look- at the page I've linked to. Please? It's more the image of the character that's important than what's being said, at least as far as this little bit of fan art goes.
