Description

Graphite, Photoshop 6.0

A naga head-shot.

So I'm done with this for now. I liked how it turned out. Hope you enjoy it as well.

This is actually just a test work. First to try and figure out patterning for one of the Naga's in a larger picture, secondly to try and figure out control of my mark-making, a contuation of my battle with the track-ball. I have found a new tool in my battle. Resolution. by increasing the resolution I am better able to control my mark making, and then shrink it back down again... well, here are some of the results. :) Bouncing back and forth between resolutions on this.

Anybody else have any experiance with this?

BTW, this was just a doodle done in the firelight around a camp fire. So the slight wonkiness about the eyes... yeah. Ummm... Heh... -_-'

Edit: Ok, so some friends 'yelled' at me to deal with the eyes. So I did. Thank you friends. :p :poke: ;) (Yes, Nightsavior, that includes you.) So hopefully this is better. Though, it did bring to my attention the edge of her face that is against the back-ground. I tried to go paint enough to muffle the lines like I did just about everywhere else, but it just came out muddy. (bleh.) Any thoughts?

What I tend to do it keep it at the high resolution and just zoom in and out. In Photoshop CS2 the Ctrl-0 fits the image on the desktop and Ctrl-Alt-0 zooms to 100%. I also use the zoom tool a lot. If you click and drag, it'll zoom to a rectangle (alt-click is zoom out). Hope that helps.

About the picture, the proportions look great (I notice that because that's what I have trouble with when drawing figures - hence why I haven't posted any... :blushes:). She looks very sad; presumably, we'll see why when you finish the larger picture. Can't wait to see it! :)
I also like your color choices, and the background. Do you do your Photoshop work on layers? If not, you should - it makes life sooooo much easier!
