Description
Oleomimus minora
The first time these were spotted in the ocean it was thought that an old, capped deep-sea well had sprung a leak. There was a mometary frenzy before one of these oil clumps was pulled up to reveal the living nature of these jellies.
THese jellies have adapted to mimic the oil clouds that drift below the surface of the water. As most sea creatures with site cannot eat oil, it has been a spectacularly successful defense.
--------
Another prototype for my Man Made Oceans show that I want to do. The creatures that will someday remain in the oceans are the ones that can adapt to the conditions we have put into the ocean. This is what I imagine some of them to look like.
