Another Kylix.
Ok, this did not turn out how I hoped. The test tile had this cool metalic shiny drip that just didn't happen here.
That being said, The colors outside the metalic drip turned out VERY nicely and how I expected AND better than I expected. ^_^

Non-potters have to understand that glaze is not paint. You cannot control what is going to happen in the kiln. You might have a damn good idea how its going to turn out, but then someone else's piece releases a ton of copper into the air and suddenly you get red flashing, or maybe it didn't stay long enough or too long at the >right< temperature (out of 2000 degrees) and it did something funky like buble or mix strangely with another glaze. Or crystalize... I've had that happen. So when I say that something did not turn out the way it expected (and I almost always do) its not a complaint. Its a statement of the obvious.

I like the glazes on your piece. One of mine that I had gotten back today from the kiln was absolutely nothing like the test brick. It was supposed to be green with a tint of purple. But half of it is yellow-purple mix, and the other side is blue purple with blue white dots. But I now am in love with it. And I'm loving yours too. That green and the lip stand out to me.
